The word that changed the day
Monday was then
still with the blues
Yawning with the worst look-
came I from my dreams just done.
As a drunkard recovering
from the kick of Perry.
Rude was I as rude should be-
to everyone who came by my way,
Lost in my abominable dream;
so vague and inexact.
Then heard that cry for help-
refused by some.
For the sake of that cry
went I to the rescue,
When the favor was done
stood I with the dignity of a soldier,
flashing an arrogant smile.
touched by that gratitude
left tears in my eyes
and the best smile on my face;
And gave me the chance
to picture the beauty of
the remaining day!
still with the blues
Yawning with the worst look-
came I from my dreams just done.
As a drunkard recovering
from the kick of Perry.
Rude was I as rude should be-
to everyone who came by my way,
Lost in my abominable dream;
so vague and inexact.
Then heard that cry for help-
refused by some.
For the sake of that cry
went I to the rescue,
When the favor was done
stood I with the dignity of a soldier,
flashing an arrogant smile.
touched by that gratitude
left tears in my eyes
and the best smile on my face;
And gave me the chance
to picture the beauty of
the remaining day!
